WARREN, MICHIGAN- The satisfaction of knowing you helped someone is a feeling not easily replicated. Imagine that feeling going further. Imagine it helped someone with their rehabilitation back from a serious injury and in turn helped a child in need. That is exactly what Unique Options LLC. of Warren, Medical Care Coordinators Inc. of Roseville, and Children's Hospital of Detroit's plan for 2005.

Medical Care Coordinators Inc. is donating the funding resources to Unique Options, LLC for every referral they receive in 2005. The funding is then being used to purchase material for the employees of Unique Options, LLC to make blankets to be donated to Children's Hospital's Oncology Unit and other local organizations. The work completed at Unique Options, LLC is part of the employee's rehabilitation process.

The people donating to Unique Options, LLC are not the only people feeling the satisfaction; the workers at Unique Options, LLC feel it also. "These blankets are made with love and kindness," said Kathie Kisielewski, employee of Unique Options, LLC. "We are doing it for the kids. It's therapy for me."

The employees of Unique Options, LLC not only tie the blankets, they size the material and make the blanket in its entirety.

"I enjoy that (making blankets) immensely," said Greg Goodson, a Unique Options, LLC employee. "It's like opening a door in a child's heart.opening and giving love."

The blanket making process is not only to give the employees of the rehabilitation center work, it also aids in their rehabilitation.

"The blankets generate good feelings for the workers and allows them to give back to others simultaneously," said Sue Ellen Jurcak M.A., L.P.C., C.D.M.S., C.C.M, Owner and President of Unique Options, LLC. "It is wonderful how the rehabilitation community is reaching out to one and other to launch such a beneficial project on all levels."

The blankets are set to be delivered to Children's Hospital Thursday, April 28, 2005.

Unique Options, LLC is a non-traditional workshop, they obtain jobs outsourced from area businesses and provide them to people who have suffered traumatic brain injuries, while allowing them to work in a supported sheltered environment as part of their rehabilitation process.
